What Is Shockwave Therapy for Neuropathy?
Shockwave therapy uses shockwaves to create a biological response in the tissues. While there are many different forms of shockwave therapy, Lazar Spinal Care offers SoftWave therapy, which is shockwave therapy in its most gentle form.
A team member will use a therapy device to produce low-intensity shockwaves that penetrate the tissues and help promote healing while targeting the root of the pain. Since SoftWave therapy uses unfocused shockwaves, it is an excellent tool for larger and deeper tissue areas.
What Does the SoftWave Therapy Process Involve?
SoftWave therapy generally takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Before we begin, a team member will apply ultrasound gel to the affected area before placing the handheld device over the tissues. Sound waves will travel from the machine to the handheld device and into the tissues.
Once we turn on the machine, you may feel gentle tapping. As we complete the therapy process, a member of our team may ask how your overall pain levels are and if you have pain in other areas. This is to identify hot spots and ensure we are making progress toward reducing your pain.
What Are the Benefits of Undergoing SoftWave Therapy?
SoftWave therapy is a great option for individuals suffering from neuropathy, as it is noninvasive and helps reduce pain levels faster. Below are some additional benefits of undergoing SoftWave therapy:
-
Has minimal side effects
-
Requires no recovery time
-
Accelerates your body's natural healing process
-

Does SoftWave Therapy Have Any Side Effects?
